I found a great article written by a Junior in high school who is a liscensed gun owner. He uses guns for target practice and hunting. In this article he talks about how he didn't participate in a march at his school to remember the Florida victims because it was all about protesting guns. He believes that people that use the guns are the problem, not the guns themselves which is why background checks are important. This article also introduces the idea of gun education to young people just like education about sex and drug abuse. While guns are dangerous, they can also be used safely, it just depends on how the shooter decides to use it. I think that this kid is on to something with the education idea and I agree that the guns are not the problem, it is the people that can get them. Read more in this article.
